Feasibility study on the use of geomatics tools in North American archaeology

Applied research and development grant (ARD) Level 1 - NSERC

The aim of this project was to use geomatics techniques to update work methods in archaeology. The project lasted 6 months and tested three types of tools in concrete situations of archaeological excavations. Close-range photogrammetry, among others, made it possible to create digital surface models and orthomosaics.

The company is currently using the methods developed during this project. It now has the ability to retrieve and analyze old archaeological data, provide faster reports, and use colour photographic plans.
