Description

A forest in Lac-Saint-Jean and affected by fire was analyzed for this study. Using airborne short-wave infrared hyperspectral imagery, our team first identified spectral signatures associated with the different characterization classes of burn patterns. Then, it established the statistical profile of the stands’ mortality rate that had been partially affected by the fire. An analysis of the spectral signatures and the characterization classes’ variations finally made it possible to identify the main discriminant wavelengths, in addition to correspondence with the satellites that have these spectral bands.
